My 4-yr-old daughter, Inara, loves two things:
1. taking photos on her Samsung Galaxay tablet, and
2. Endlessly teasing me for my dark skin and curly hair.
One day she had to stay w/ me at the internet shop where I was finishing my work bec her dad was out on errands. After about 2hrs, she got bored playing games on the tab and decided to take photos and videos of the whole place. Probably because she also wanted to document her exciting work day.
When she got to me, she deliberately changed the settings to blzck&white, took a photo of me, then promptly announced:
“Here you are mom. You’re black.”
My friends say it’s a good shot, great lighting, angle, and-all. But all I hear are the mocking words of that kid telling me mom, you’re black.
